Disability support

We aim to enable all of our students to participate fully in their studies.

You need to follow these steps in order to ensure you get appropriate support from Birkbeck.

If you declare a disability in your application, you will be asked to complete a Study Support Plan and provide medical evidence of your disability or dyslexia.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you have dyslexia, you are welcome to come for a free dyslexia screening. This is open to current students.

As a disabled student at Birkbeck, you can apply for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).

You will be asked to have a needs assessment once your Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) has been approved.

These discretionary awards are intended to help towards your course costs.

Disabled and dyslexic students on our central London, Bloomsbury, campus can access a wide range of assistive technology and library support.

A number of wheelchair-accessible rooms are available from the University of London Housing Services.

Talk to us during the module confirmation/exam registration process to ensure that the appropriate arrangements are in place for you to take your exam(s).

This programme is a dedicated careers and employability course for students and recent graduates with a disability or neurodiverse condition.
